The Kimball Art Center will be the site for a large-scale garage sale this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to Carol Calder, the Center's director of Development, "Response from the community has been tremendous. We've received a number of unusual unus-ual items that can probably not be bought at any store." The garage sale will include arts and crafts and items typically found at garage sales. To date, the Center has received such things as new alpaca coats from Peru, " . an Oriental rug, ceramics by Stan Roberts, a sofa, a bird cage, a wrought iron light fixture, children's toys, games, new table settings, a number of paintings, a new Olivetti typewriter, a dishwasher dish-washer and a stove. The Center will continue to accept items for the sale through Thursday, June 3. Persons interested in having items sold should set their own prices. The Art Center will double the price, and will retain a 50 percent commission when the item is sold. The 50 percent commission will be viewed as a tax deductible contribution. contribu-tion. Unsold merchandise must be picked up by 6 p.m., Saturday June 5, and any unclaimed items will be donated to charity. Hot dogs, pop, beer, chips and Cookie Bear cookies will be sold at the sale.
