Show Favorable Outlook Forecast The outlook for Utah's goose season this year is "favorable," according to Division of Wildlife Resources' Re-sources' principal Waterfowl Water-fowl Biologist Al Regenthal. The goose opener will be Saturday, October 11, with shooting beginning one-half hour before sunrise. Canada goose populations look good, according to Regenthal, who reminded hunters that no more than two of that species spec-ies may be taken daily or in possession. Snow geese have suffered suffer-ed three years of poor productivity, pro-ductivity, and their baglimit this year has been cut to three. "Not many snow geese are taken in Utah," noted Regenthal. Shotgunners may take one Ross's goose. However, How-ever, no more than five geese of the three species may be taken in the aggregate. For example, hunters may take two Canada geese, two snow geese and one Ross's goose to total the five daily and possession bag limit. |
