Show Hearing to Discuss Hike in Mayor's Pay A public hearing will be held in conjunction with next Thursday's Thurs-day's Park City Council meeting on a proposal to raise the salary of Mayor Jack Green. The proposal to raise the Mayor's salary from $250 to $600 per month came from Councilman Bob Wells at last Thursday's council session. In making the proposal, Wells, who is chairman of the City Finance Committee, stated: "Because of the increasing amount of time, the present compensation is totally out of line." He also suggested that the pay raise be in addition to the $150 expenses the mayor now receives, making total compensation $750 per month. "This was not my idea," said Mayor Green in response to the proposal. But he did note: "It (the mayor's office) does take a hell of a lot of time." |
