Show Park ffigh Netted to Match The Park City High tennis teams, boys and girls, gave the St. Joseph Jays all they - could handle last Thursday at the Racquet Club as the two teams played close matches in singles and doubles matches. Top seeded seed-ed St. Joe came away with an overall 4-1 victory as the Miners suffered their first Donald playing against Miners Min-ers Paul Dyer and Eric Smith. The score was 5, 7; 7. 5; 4, 6. Margaret Van Wagoner, Park High's number two singles player, beat her opponent 1, 6; 6, 2; 6, 0; while Susan Mann, playing as Park High's number three singles, lost in her matches; 6, 1; 6, 0. Thursday marked the first competitive match for Susan Mann as well as for Angie Mellott and Sonya Ratcliff who, as a doubles team, lost 1,6; 6. 2; 6, 0. Park High Coach Dave Chaplin said he thought his players played very compet-. compet-. itively against the strongest team in the league. "I think we did very nicely. I wish we could have won; nevertheless, we played play-ed very closely."
