Show MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AT BINGHAM CANYON TOWN HALtf SEPTEMBER 24, 1923. The request having been made of Bingham Canyon to raise the sura of $500.00 as its quota of the National Red Cross drive for funds with wltfch to render aid to the Florida and Porto Rico sufferers of the recent devastating devastat-ing storms. . j Dr. J. F. Flynn, Mayor of Binsshain Canyon, called a meeting for eight o'clock at the City "Hall.'- Thettolftw 1 wing were present: - j chairman of the committee ducting tbe drive. Committees to be appointed appoint-ed to solicit the business firms of the community limiting the amounts from each ft the firms to $1.00. To conduct the drive among the business firms the chair appointed Chairmen to serve in each of the three districts. Highland Boy, Copperfield, and Bingham Bing-ham proper. In addition the chair appointed a committee at large, representing re-presenting local social, civic and fraternal fra-ternal organizations to asnlst, where .ever Jtheynia- in the general drive. Each Committee Chairman has a right to call upon the cosynittee members at large, or any other residents he may desire, Tor assistance. The following Committee Chairmen and members at large were appointed: Mayor Flynn, Mrs. A. C. Cole, Mra. I James Nerdin, Prof. H. R. Atkin, I, a. Walker, Bishop D. C. Lyon, Deputy Jas. Mclntyre, R. J. Goodwin, J. d. Shilling, J. A. Norden, F. E. Turner, Rev. W. A. Cleneghan, Rer. W. R. Ruel, B. J. Barnard, F. A. Wardlaw, James Nerdin. Dr. Flynn called the meeting to rr-der rr-der and requested Boyd Barnard to act a temporary secretary. Dr. Flynn then stated the purpose of the nwo:-ing. nwo:-ing. Motion was then made, secouiT-ed secouiT-ed and carried that Mrs. A. C. Cole act as Chairman of the Binghajn drive and Boyd J. Barnard, Secretary and Treasurer. Plans were then discussed f, r the raising of the $500.00 quota and tin following plan adopted : Each mine in the district to solicit a maximum amount of fifty cents i from Its employees, the same to be collected by payroll deduction. I It was ordered that money collected should be deposited in the Bingham State Bank to the credit of the Bins-ham Bins-ham Florida Disaster Relief and to be withdrawn by the Chairman of the Drive and the Treasurer and paid to the Salt Lake County Red Cns Chapter.
