Show Energy Info at Library Saving energy is important, especially during these days of ever-rising prices, and Eleanor Bennett is presently involved in a state-wide program to better inform in-form Park City residents on how to decrease energy costs. Since May, Eleanor has attended attend-ed two energy .workshops in Salt Lake, designed to explore various means of self-help methods to save energy and money. Proper insulation is one way to conserve energy, Eleanor pointed out, and it can be done by the individual rather than hiring someone to do it. And if a contractor contrac-tor does insulate your home, it should be checked closely to make sure it is done in the right manner. man-ner. "With prices going up, it makes it even more vital for us to conserve energy," said Eleanor. "Help is available in conserving energy in and around the home." The energy workshops Eleanor has attended are sponsored by the Utah Energy Council and Utah State University Extension program. Eleanor said she plans to attend another workshop in November. The participants in the workshops work-shops discussed a variety of subjects sub-jects related to energy conservation. conserva-tion. One question posed was, "Is it feasible to harness energy from lightning." There will be information, including in-cluding brochures and pamphlets, pamph-lets, displayed in the library through this week. Addresses and phone numbers will also be there for anyone wishing to learn more about saving energy. A free "hot line" number for questions on energy is 1-800-662-3633. |
