Show Graves Named U.S. Ski Team Officer The new face at the U. S. Ski Team office belongs to Peter Graves, recently hired as Public Information Officer. He'll be cultivating media contacts in wire services, T.V., radio and newspapers, news-papers, trying to ensure that the Ski Team receives optimum coverage cov-erage and that the hard-working athletes receive the credit they deserve for their hard work. His work will allow Public Relations Re-lations Director Joan Chase to work with commercial contacts, fundraising, and public relations. Graves is a native of Bennington, Benning-ton, Vermont though he comes to Park City by way of a Colorado Colo-rado mining town turned ski resort--Durango. There he was a four-year member of the Crosscountry Cross-country ski racing team at Fort Lewis College where he received a B.A. in Physical Education.He was news director for KIUP KRSJ radio in Durango and worked as Colorado correspondent correspon-dent for KOAT-TV inAlburquer-que. inAlburquer-que. Graves believes his lC-year involvement in-volvement in the national ski racing scene asacross-crountry competitor and coach will give him an advantage in doing his job effectively. "I'm very excited ex-cited to become affiliated with skiing again. It's very refreshing refresh-ing for me to get back into the sport I love so much," he explains, ex-plains, stressing that both Alpine Al-pine and Nordic programs will receive optimum exposure. He's impressed with the hardworking hard-working people at the UJS. Ski Team office whom he believes are very professional and are supplying the athletes with tremendous tre-mendous leadership. "As long as I've been following the team, . I've never seen it better directed. di-rected. The athletics and administration admin-istration are both going in a proper direction and we're starting start-ing to get consistently high quaU ity results," he raved. Graves feels right at home in Park City since he's always lived in small towns.
