The once-in-a-lifetime event will be marked with an open house at the Park City Ward Cultural Hall Friday, June 23. Date of the anniversary is June 28. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Winters Observe Their Golden Wedding Day June 28 Carl Winters he is listed in "Who's Who in the West" and the Dictionary of International Biographies in London, England. Eng-land. He is in the Legion of Honor, Kiwanis International and has the Silver Platter from the Utah Society of Superintendents. Superintend-ents. He received the coveted plaque for devotion and contribution con-tribution to children and youth from the Utah School Board Association As-sociation and has a 4-H plaque for meritorious service to that organization. His service to his church is noteworthy. He has been Park City Ward Clerk and Sunday School Superintendent; he was South Summit Stake Clerk for 4 years and held the Stake Pf es-idency es-idency for 16 years. He isStake Patriarch. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Winters of Park City will be celebrating celebrat-ing a once-in-a-lifetime event. Their golden wedding anniversary anniver-sary will be June 28 and on Friday, June 23 they will have an Open House at the Park City Ward Cultural Hall. They will be happy to see family fam-ily and friends and they sincerely sin-cerely say no gifts, please. Married on June 28, 1922 in the S alt Lake Temple, the couple had 3 daughters, Berniece Hen-drickson Hen-drickson (deceased), Marie Horan, Orem, Utah; and Beth Fritch, Anchorage, Alaska. There are 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Winters (Ruby) is a graduate of North Summit High School and attended both BYU and the University of Utah. She has been active in her church, holding positions of Ward Relief Society Counselor, secretary and home teacher. She has given over 30 years of continuous service in YWMIA where she was Stake secretary and teacher. teach-er. Mrs. Winters is an Honorary Honor-ary Golden Gleaner and is an active member of the Women's Athenaeum Club. She has served serv-ed as Historian there; she was also principal of the Junior Seminary. Mr. Winters (Carl) is also a graduate of North Summit High , School; he was graduated from the University of Utah where he also did graduate work. He went on to the University of South- em California as well as Utah State University. He served as principal and teacher at Echo, Upton and Wanship Elementary schools and also taught at Helper Help-er Junior High School. He was principal and teacher at both elementary and junior high in Thayne, Wyoming. When he came to Park City High School he taught Math and Science. Later he became principal prin-cipal and then served asSuper-intendent asSuper-intendent of Park City School District from 1937 to June 1965. Mr. Winters served honorably honor-ably in the First World War seeing action in France. He has served on innumerable innumer-able regional and state committees commit-tees and has belonged to many organizations th e American Association of School Administrators; Admin-istrators; the UtahStateSociety of Superintendents; he is a member of Phi Delta Kappa; was commander of the American Legion Park City Post, also Chaplain. He was president of Kiwanis here and a Scout Master Mas-ter for Troop 144. Many honors have come to |
