Show had broken her ankle. She was kept overnight and placed in a cast the following morning. This is a sad blow to the team as well as Sherrie as she will be out of play this summer. Charles Snow has been hospitalized hos-pitalized some three weeks now after surgery. Reports are that he is doing fine and may soon be back home. Stan Fisher was operated on and he also will be in the hospital hos-pital for some time. He is doing very well and may be home sooner than expected. Ted Bair was pretty well shaken up last week when he fell from a ladder while working work-ing on his house. He was rushed rush-ed to Salt Lake in the ambulance, ambul-ance, treated and released, nothing broken but stiff and sore. Kay Kummer is vacationing at the home of her sister, Velma Jensen in Salt Lake. Sandi Wardell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. Leo. Warden was married to Jim Christiansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Christiansen June 9. A reception re-ception was held in their honor at the Center Ward Cultural Hall at Center Creek, Utah. that same evening. - Layton Goff was brought in from Ely, Nev to the Holy Cross Hospital where he will undergo tests and treatment. Layton suffered a heart ailment sometime back. Elda Yates Smith is also a hospital patient. Chit-Chat by Bea How small the world when one says she is from Park City. This past week brought two events to mind. Christine Kummer Kum-mer who is a visitor in Phoenix, Arizona, upon attending Sunday School had a teacher, Preston James and he had taught Gregg Winn in the mission field. In Portland, Oregon while Gregg was there went into the bank one day to cash a check and of course when she checked his ID noting he was from Park City had to chat and ask about people she knew here. Ruth Carter Car-ter an aunt of mine was the teller. Greg is now in Medford, Oregon Ore-gon and a district leader, and even though he is a long way from home he has made many friends and some because he comes from Park City. A magic word for sure. Park City has two women's Softball teams in the Wasatch league this year. They are called the Park Cityettes and the Softballers. They play every Wednesday and Thursday at Charleston. If you want to get in on the excitement and watch our teams play, go over some evening. Games start at 6 and play till 10. You may not know it but we do have some fine ball players. This is the second year our girls have played in this league. Three games are played each night so come on out and support them, it's good for their morale to have the hometown rooting for them. Last Thursday the Softballers Softbal-lers played Oakley at the High School and it was a very exciting excit-ing game. Sherrie King made a fast slide into second base and a girl from Oakley fell on her. Sherrie, a true sport tried not to let the team know she was hurt but she did go to the Heber hospital and x-rays showed she |
