Show Bea's Chit-Chat with BFA I can remember a lot of bad storms in our area but I cannot can-not remember anything like I have seen in this past week. I was on Parleys' summit last week Christmas Eve when there was a twelve car pile up and also Sunday just minutes after, another in the same place and as many or more cars involved including a patrol car and an ambulance. We were held up for over an hour and I never have seen such a steady stream of traffic as there was. Is it because of inexperienced drivers in the area, or speed or due to the fact that the top of the summit gives one an illusion of a straightaway ahead and people don't slow down when they top the hill? Whatever it is, it is worse than 1 have seen " and I have been around here for a long time. "When 1 was a student, I was quiet, I didn't protest, and I didn't riot. I wasn't unwashed, I wasn't obscene, I made no demands on prexy or Dean. I sat in no speakins, I broke not a window; Few students were meeker, I'm forced to admit, With some hesitation; All I got out of school, was an education." edu-cation." This is a poem written by my old friend, Anon. Kenny Wright now of San Jose, California spent the holidays holi-days home visiting his mother Mrs. Robert Theilke. Ken says it's nice to be back home to visit but he has a good job and more opportunity than he had here, although there have been many changes in the old jtown since he left. i - The holiday season was a 'happy one. for most but for Miss t ' , ; . r LuAnn Motley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Motley and Tim Street, son of Mrs. Marcell Street, it was extra special as they were married. Open house was held in the Crescent Room at Treasure Mountain Inn on December 18. Well wishes from the many friends of this popular young couple and may theirs be one of happiness. Vince Offret went into the hospital for back surgery and we hear he is doing nicely to date. Saw Blanche Fletcher in town last Friday, her first walk to town since her operation. It seemed so good to see her back' in the old routine, a walk to town, stopping off in the dime store and visiting with everyone who dropped by. Good work, Blanche your friends missed you and it is great to see you out and about. Arthur Workman again entered en-tered the hospital Sunday and will undergo open heart surgery Wednesday. Art has had a long siege of hospitals this past year and all his friends wish him the best and.hope that after this operation he will only be a visitor not a patient in '72. New Years Eve was exciting as ever and we spent the evening even-ing at the C'est Bon, with Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Nelson and his mother from Memphis, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Goo, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Sorenson. Saw quite a few Parkites back for the night, Mr. and Mrs. "Steven Workman, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Angeli, Mr. and Mrs'.Xick.Pro--vpst and ' Mr, , and . .Mrs.' .John .By.tr, everyone enjoying themselves.. them-selves.. Happy New Year!; '. '.. -,... We hope Mary Lehmer had a happy birthday yesterday January 5-banged up wrist, broken rib and all! |
