Show I rrrr m y if w " Y Ali Manleghi's Persian Parents Enjoying First Visit to States Nasrollah and Aghdas Man-teghi Man-teghi were the center of attention atten-tion Sunday afternoon at an elaborate smorgasbord in Park City. They are the parents of Ali Manteghi, popular owner of the Christopher Restaurant on low- much time in her home entertaining enter-taining friends and diplomatic guests. They extended an invitation to many at the party to visit them in Iran. They will be leaving the United States Nov. 25. er Park Avenue, and are here visiting from their home in Tab-rig, Tab-rig, Iran. It is the first visit to the United States for the couple and since October 14 when they left Iran they have visited many parts of our country. Ali and Jennifer met them in New York and travelled with them to the West Coast stopping off in Washington, D.C. where they were guests of the Iranian Embassy. Mr. Nasrollah Manteghi Man-teghi is an official in the Iranian Iran-ian government. They visited, also, at the University of Colorado Colo-rado where Mrs. Aghdas Manteghi' Man-teghi' s brother teaches architecture. arch-itecture. They also paid a reciprocal re-ciprocal visit to professors in Colorado who had visited them in Iran. Nasrollah Manteghi does not speak nor understand English so the guests communicated with him through his interpretershis inter-pretershis sons Ali and Maleck and daughter Poorie who were all there. Their mother moth-er speaks some English. There is a second daughter, Parie, who lives in Iran with her husband hus-band and three children. The Persian language has an elegant melliflous quality and lent much charm to the occasion; as did the food served. serv-ed. Prepared and planned by Maleck, the repast included a wide variety of salads, rice dishes, fruits and meat. A cold yugurt, onion and cucumber soup received its share of attention. at-tention. In their travels in this country coun-try the visitors have seen many things that impressed them. They enjoyed California the climate-they liked Disneyland, particularly the roller coaster. coast-er. They had heard much of Berkeley University-the spawning ground for many nobel prize winners--and were distressed dis-tressed to see the shabbiness of the students on that campus. They were interested in tall buildings, particularly in New York City; they were impressed by the vast network of interstate inter-state highways. Both Mr. and Mrs. Manteghi seemed to think that Park City and Salt Lake City were very special. They said the people appeared so well-dressed and1 that the older folks kept busy and didn't just "sit around".
