Show fkk Is MSiteir Wassail Meek Suadl Annual Dog Races at Flinders Mt Meadows Added Feature With so much going on this coming week-end at ParkCity's Winter Wassail, let's not forget for-get to attend the Snowmobile Races at Flinder's Mountain Meadow Ranch. It'll be the 2nd annual race sponsored by the Summit County Coun-ty Sheriff's Patrol andpromises to be a bright spot. The Snowball Snow-ball dinner and dance at the Ranch on Saturday night at 8 p.m. will be a highlight of the two day affair. Also the big Celebrity Race about 2 p.m. on Sunday will be fun to watch. The Winter Wassail is building build-ing into something big, $1100 of prizes will be awarded mainly at Casino night Saturday, Jan. 22. The dog sled races will be held at the old ball park and sleigh rides will be free. Work is progressing on the snow sculpture entries to be judged Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. There are not too many entries en-tries for the cross country races and people are encouraged encour-aged to sign up. Friday night after the spaghetti spag-hetti dinner and crowning of the queen, music for dancing will be provided by, "Rocks and Gravel," from Salt Lake City. Any single girl, 16 years of age or older, residing in Summit County is eligible to be Queen. Prince and Princess will be chosen by the drawing of names. Menu: Spaghetti, french bread, salad, wassail or beverage of your choice (set-ups available) Cost; Adults, $2; children, $1.25; Set-ups, 30?. Dance to be held at Memorial Building, Friday. There will be tube racing in the following age groups: 5-7; 8-9; 10-12; 13 and up. Cardboard Pull in this age group: 13 and up; Cardboard Roll for the 9-year olds and older. Two prizes will be awarded in each age group for each event. Inter-Resort Competition: All resorts are invited to participate in competition among the following groups: Ski instructors; ski patrol; lift operators; food service; and maintenance crews. Individual prizes will be awarded for each event plus there will be a circulating cir-culating trophy awarded to the resort with the highest accumulative accumu-lative points scored from all the events. Adult events will consist of Cross Country Ski racing in Men's and Women's Division in the following categories: Saturday, Jan. 22, at 12 noon, Individual racing in novice and experienced division. Entry fee of $.50 per person; Sunday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m., Relay teams. Teams consist of five (5) participants. par-ticipants. Entry fee of $4 per team. Awards will be given in each division. Cross country skiing equipment will be furnished if |
