Show We Get Letters Mayor William P. Sullivan Park City, Utah 84060 Dear Mayor Sullivan: As four years of the privilege priv-ilege of serving on the Park City Parks and Museum Committee Com-mittee draw to a close, I would like to submit a brief report on the progress of the museum branch of the committee. You are, of course, familiar with our struggle to find permanent perm-anent housing for the museum after Mr. Paulsen requested his building vacated. Since acquiring ac-quiring the Sheriff's office we have, with volunteer labor and supplies including carpet, lumber lum-ber and complete rewiring materials, mat-erials, put the building in near "opening" condition. Park City Ventures has donated don-ated to the Museum Committee all materials to rewire the building, all paint, lumber, and labor by mining company carpenters, car-penters, electricians and painters. paint-ers. The carpet for the building was donated by Bob Murray, the pad by Park City, and labor to lay the carpet by Bob Ramos and Kiwanis Club members. The antique light fixtures were donated don-ated by Bloom's and the display came from Bus Gasparac. Kiwanis members Gary Kimball, Kim-ball, Niles Andrus, Donnie Nelson, Nel-son, Mark Jolley, Ken Webb, Earnie Anderson andMarkSim-mons andMarkSim-mons all have contributed much time and labor to the remodeling. remodel-ing. Gib Kimball helped remodel re-model the archway. Among others to give time to the museum have beenFrazer Buck, Ben McPolin, Ken Webb, Bea Kummer, Joan Alvey, Jim Santy, Terry Andrus, BrianAn-drus, BrianAn-drus, Rory Andrus, Lori Andrus Robbie Andrus, Tommy St. Jeor, Evelyn (Stanton) Bartschi and Mary Lou Toly. The men at the Judge Shop designed, built, donated and installed the window bars and sign on behalf of Park City Ventures. Many Parkites before us have had the dream of establishing a permanent historical so ciety and museum and the work these people did (Joan Stone, Frank Stone, Fraser Buck, Chris Winn, Bill Sullivan, AudreySul-livan, AudreySul-livan, Eddie Hawkinson, Earnie Anderson, Violet Terry and many others) has been an inspiration in-spiration to us. It is my sincere hope that the years Niles and I have spent to further this dream will encourage en-courage others to follow in this endeavor. With deepest regret I askyou to accept my resignation as chairman of the Park City Museum Mus-eum Committee effective as of today. Very truly yours, Connie M. Andrus P.S. Most of the exhibits we have shown in the museum were loaned to us and have been returned re-turned to their owners. |
