H Sheffield A well known Kaysville man was killed Instantly in an automobile automobile automobile auto auto- mobile accident in Centerville Wednesday evening April 17 17 KENNETH Heber Sheffield I 68 of W. W 1st N N. N was pinned in his car about pm p.m. after it was hit and demolished in a shattering collision when hit by bya a Union Pacific crane Trooper Leland Bybee said the accident occurred when Mr Sheffield apparently pulled into the path of the h huge o-e o northbound truck at the intersection of US U.S. 91 and Porters Porter's Lane west of Centerville AT THE TIME of his death Mr Sheffield was a member of the Church eral board a position he had held for 20 years and served as coordinator for the MIA June Conference He was also a teacher at the Kaysville LAS LOO Seminary at Davis High School He had been an Church Churched Churched- ed educator educator ed- ed for 39 years and was formerly principal of the Kaysville Kaysville Kays Kays- ville Seminary Mr Sheffield had been a co coordinator coordinator coordinator co- co for the high school seminaries in northern Utah southern Idaho and southwestern southwest southwest- ern Wyoming retiring a year ago He had also taught for a number of years in the Davis County schools MR SHEFFIELD was born June 8 1899 in Kaysville a ason ason ason son of Heber James and Nannie Lyle Kinnett Sheffield Jr He was married to Lucile Beck Sept 5 1923 in the Manti ManU Temple He was graduated from Weber Weber Weber We We- ber State College and the University University University Uni Uni- of Utah and completed post graduate programs at Utah State and Brigham Young Uni Uni- Mr Sheffield served as Kaysville postmaster and assistant postmaster for 16 years He was also Kaysville city recorder for ten years ACTIVE IN Boy Scout work he had earned the Eagle Scout award as a boy and had received the Silver Beaver award for his continuous service to the pro pro- gram He served an mission to the Central Atlantic States from 1919 to 1921 and has held many positions on the ward stake and wide church-wide levels He was an honorary Master M Mat and had led the youths' youths excursions for the Early Church History group and the Hill lUll Cumorah Pageant group several times AT THE TIME of his death he was a High Priest In the Kaysville Stake and a member of the Kaysville 1st ward He was also a member of Rotary International He and his wife had led a tour to the Middle East and he had led a tour to Europe under the direction of the State Depart Depart- ment HE IS survived by his widow of Kaysville four sons and two daughters Russell H He Sheffield Bountiful Milwaukee Wisconsin Homer J.
