a swimming swimming swimming swim swim- ming cap unusual up make-up a along along along long skirt dog bone necklace mismatched shoes and socks and an onion and garlic bag which caused many to leave the classrooms The following night November November November Novem Novem- ber 1 the new members met at Pop Jenks dressed in boxes and paraded down Main Street and Park Avenue to the high school H Here Her e r e all Pep Club members enjoyed a spook alley and snacks Although there was much pain and torture the new members are now official and happy members of the Pep Club Reporter Coll Colleen Happenings when the the band performing performing performing per per- forming at the cheerleaders Benefit Dan Dance c e were accompanied accompanied panted by their own audience of several Skyline students All was well until two of ot the spirited high-spirited boys from Skyline were picked up by Officer Ryan for vandalism and consumption of at alcoholic beverages and were presumably sent to a home for young law breakers in Salt Lake County The band itself is not to be blamed for tor t the their h e i r followers' followers action as so some me people have been led to believe All AU in all assembly as- as s e m b 1 y of the yea year r. r The assembly consisted of many comical skits including Chris Andrus reading Edgar Allen Poes Poe's The Raven while Dave Gardner who was Ue tied 1 to me ceiling by a rope played the part of the raven by flying back and forth across the stage Another skit enjoyed by the audience was entitled Super Super- man Mark Brewer Drewer narrated it while Scott McComb as Superman Superman Superman Super Super- man Ronald Nelson and Bill Dill Se Serie Searle acted it out There was also a serious side to t this his mag magnificent n it ice n t assembly Connie Statham and Matilda Byer Helwig sang The Look of Love Mark Brewer and Theron Sumner Sunnier accompanied by Dennis Leath- Leath am Mark Brewer Theron Sumner Sumner Sumner Sum- Sum ner and Dennis Leatham also played Little Black Eg Egg and Gloria with Mark and Dennis Dennison on guitars and Theron on drums During these songs there was fantastic lighting effects which revealed three girls dancing In Inthe inthe inthe the background The class marched out the middle aisle to the graduation march to provide a truly grand finale If the Seniors win the best assembly award this year they will retire the cup They won the award once in the eighth grade when Betty Farnsworth was their advisor They tied for tor first place with the Seniors when they were Sophomores The advisors then were Mrs Marlowe and Jim Re porter Sherrie Wall to wall carpeting has just been ins installed t a 11 e d in the Library of ot Park High Wall to wall carpeting has also been installed in Mrs Shannon letters of appreciation to out out- side groups who present assemblies set up auditorium for assemblies prepare points list for judging and hand list to teachers and student council members before each assembly help student groups to locate bands 3 It was suggested to set aside money for r records e cor d s to secure some kind kin d of sound system for d dances a nee s to use decorations to Ins Insure u res successful successful suc suc- u c dances and to tape re re- re cords 4 The Student Council will wUl sponsor a no charge record dance to try tryout out above ideas Suggestions for the dance includes in includes includes in- in a II spot d dance a nee with prizes given for classes having the most members in attendance and participating 5 It was approved that the Student Council dance committee commit commit- tee will make up a schedule of events set dress standards for dances set dates for events and provide posters Lights at dances will be kept limited The meeting was
