Citizen I have nothing against Park City or the people in it but I Iam Iam Iam am surely glad I wasn't an knocker apple-knocker in the good old days because I surely would have hated to have Park City people chase me out of town with bats Its It's Just not my thing By the way what are apple knockers apple knockers Ive I've been trying trying trying try try- ing to find out what they are and nobody see seems s to know You say that youve you've seen a aa aa aa a gentle people a loving people people- I really cant can't see anything anything anything any any- thing gentle and loving about people who run other people out of town with bats You state that the people of Park City were always ready to extend a helping hand maybe so Tell me how are the are the Hippies stopping you from still lending a hand to those in need Or Orare Orare Orare are you Just blaming them for something youve you've forgotten how to do Why shouldn't Hippies be allowed to run a business on Main Street There is such a athing athing thing as free enterprise I Iam Iam Iam am surely glad you kept Bessie on Heber Ave WHO is Bessie Why would you prefer a good old-fashioned old wino I can see no difference in a guy walking around drunk all the time and a Hippie getting high While the wino win is bombed all ill the time me the Hippie is only high for a while Sure drugs ruin your 1 body but so does alcohol Why run Hippies out of Park City What have they done to you They have long hair and dirty bodies and they are corrupting corrupting corrupting cor cor- our children hildren- you say Their long hair and dirty bodies is their business not yours They are the ones who will have havethe havethe havethe the dirty 1 little i t t 1 bugs As for their corrupting our youth the only ones who are corrupted are the ones that were corrupted corrupted corrupted cor cor- before Hippies even knew ew Park City existed Now you say that Park City has had a black eye not be because because because be- be cause of citizens but because of trash that is allowed to live here Citizen I dont don't really think you con consider sid e r yourself trash I understand your point of view I hope you can mine Understanding Ch Cheryl I am neither a so called Hippie nor a long time re resident resident resident re- re of Park City but as a citizen of Park City I feel it my duty to express my opinion concerning the letter signed One Damn Mad Citizen Citizen- in inthe inthe inthe the September 4 edition of the Park Record It is nice to see there is one resident that cares enough to express his opinion but I feel his opinion is very one si sided one ed and his so-called so solution is very discriminatory Our D Damn mn Mad Citizen wrote Ive seen a gentle people a loving people that really car cared d what happened to his neighbor and friend But if the citizen would woul stop and look around round ho would find that a hippi hippies hippie's s philosophy on life is to be a gentle person a loving person one who cares what happens to his friends and neighbors The citizen goes on to say Ive seen the Hippies move in and be allowed to run business business business busi busi- ness live right on Main Street If the City Council felt the Hippies qualified to run a business then there is no question question question ques ques- tion as to the ability of the Hippies to run a business I see no rea reason son why th the Hippies should not be allowed to live on Main Street They're Just as as' as much citizens as the rest of the people who live on Main Street If the Hippies can afford alford the rent they should be allowed to live anywhere they please after alter all they have just as many rights as our Damn Mad Citizen Citizen Citizen Citi Citi- zen does As for the naked flute player he was neither a re resident resident resident re- re of the hippie house or a Park City citizen If our Damn Mad Citizen would stop turning his head and closing his eyes he would have noticed that last winter was about as rough as they come The Hippies stuck that one out and now should be left alone Damn Mad Citizens Citizen's solution to rid Park City of the Hippies is not only barbaric but old- old fashioned as well He does not realize that in fifty short years civilization has advanced to the point where these methods are areno areno areno no longer used Damn Mad Citizen said I 1 think its it's about time the people of Park City got together and stood up for their rights rights- Yet how are the people of Park City expected to get gett together with Damn Mad Citizen if he wont won't even print his name I have but one thing to say sayto sayto sayto to Damn Mad Citizen How would you feel if you traveled to H Ashbury Haight-Ashbury ai gh t-Ashbury t and en encountered encountered encountered en- en countered a sign which reads Damn Mad Citizen Dont Don't let the Sun Set on You in This Town Jim Jim Pocket In In answer to One Damn Mad Citizen The opening of your editorial is great Park City is a
