Show A Fatal Accident A very sad accident occurred at the Silver King Coalition mine at about 11 1130 30 a a. a m m. last Friday which took the life of John Dorka a dependable and faithful servant of this company for the 1 l past eighteen years John Dorka was respected by all aU who knew him for his honesty and integrity In all his dealings He leaves a widow i that is blind two sons one in Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Pen Pen- i and one of Park City The sympathy of the entire community goes goes goes' out to this bereaved family in their sad loss of husband and father 1 What a Godsend the state compensation compensation tion will be to this bereaved and afflicted widow Thanks to organized labor for being Instrumental in bringing about the bill bUl that became a statutory provision providing compensation or funds to protect protect pro pro- dependants dependents of workmen meeting the misfortune of industrial accidents that are certain to occur from time to time in the performance of hazardous tiM tI a FELLOW WORKER AND MEMBER OF LOCAL 99 The news of this regrettable accident came as a sad shock thock to the many friends and admirers of Mr Dorka who was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him and his accidental death Is sincerely sincerely sin sin- mourned by the community in general and the sincerest sympathy goes out to the bereaved family The accident occurred while deceased was aiding in dumping a car of waste into a waste hole a large slab of rock falling on him crushing his skull and sustaining other Injuries As soon lOon as possible he was taken to Salt Lake dying before reaching the hospital A fellow tellow worker Clifford Ritchie of Charleston was knocked down by the slab but escaped serious Injury Mr Dorka was born In Hungary on August 15 IS 1874 He lIe came to the United States thirty years ago and had been employed at the Silver King Coalition for 18 years Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Community church Rev E. E White officiating and was largely attended by workers fellow-workers and friends of the family Interment was In the City I cemetery |
