C Green Sr died at the Miners Miners' hospital following following follow tollow- ing a weeks week's Illness John Cornelius Cornellus Green was born June 10 1878 In Cambridge Mass a son of J J. J J. J and Catherine and Catherine Shean Green He was a II retired postmaster at Park City He married Louise Barry Jan 20 1915 In the Cathedral of the Madeleine Salt Lake City She died Jan 23 1938 He spent his youth in Denver where he was educated and In 1909 he came cameto c came cameto me meto to Bingham Canyon Utah wh where whre re he worked for the Utah Copper Co He served as justice of the peace in Bingham Bingham Bingham Bing Bing- ham for a a. number of years In 1921 he moved to Salt Lake City where he worked with the Union Pacific Railroad Co and served as local president president president dent of the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks In 1926 he moved to this city and served as Justice of the peace until 1936 when he was was' appointed postmaster a pm position he held until retiring March 31 1950 Ho helped organize the Park City baseball team and was one of the founders of the Wyoming Utah-Wyoming Baseball League He was active in the Democratic tic party having served as Summit county chairman for a a. number of years He was a member of the St. St Marys Mary's of Assumption Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus Lodge Salt Lake City He belonged to Lodge No here here- and at the time of his retirement he was president of the Utah I Chapter National League of District Postmasters I I I I Survivors include de one son John C C. E 1st South Salt Lake City Thursday and until 2 pm p.m. Friday and after 4 pm p.m. Friday at the Archer Mortuary here where Holy Rosary will willbe willbe be recited at 8 pm p.m. The f family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. St Marys Mary's church Burial will be in Mt Olivet cemetery Salt Lake City |
