Show I I Frank Collins Wounded A letter from Frank Collins who was one of the first Park City boys to get into active fighting on the French front was received Christmas day by his mother Mrs Frank Col Col- lins line It follows Somewhere in France November 23 1918 Dear Mother Since Mother Since writing you last I have been wounded in the left arm It is nothing serious and there is no cause for worrying I have been In the hospital about two weeks and am getting along In good shape My arm is fractured and I am so harnessed harnessed harnessed har har- up in bed that it Is Impossible to write myself so BO one of the other follows In the hospital Is writing for me Everything possible Is beh being g done for tor my comfort and welfare and andI andI I expect expect ex ex- pact to have a speedy recovery Ot of course it will wm take some time for the bones to knit but as soon as the wound clears up I expect to get out of bed It would not surprise me If It ItI I I reached the states almost as soon as es this letter However I d do not like Uke to o build up any false hop hopes s but things are surely to look that way I have been through every battle but the last without getting hurt and end It seems rather strange otrange that I 1 Iwas Iwas was wounded in that battle on the hour of the day of ot the month The boys over here are all aU exceedIngly exceedingly exceed exceed- ugly glad that the war is over and they hey are re all looking forward to the homecoming Some ot of the boys will probably have to stay over here for tor fora tora a a while but the most moat of ot them expect to o start for tor home bome the next nest few months Hoping that you are all well at home tome and that I 1 will see seal you soon and trusting that you all aU will Save ave a aMerry ahenry Merry henry Christmas and a Happy appy New Year I remain Your loving son eon FRANK Frank Collins is a a member of ot the famous Division and was with those hose boys bOT in hi all aU ol ot their wonderful battles tattles dire otTe the U I th rr Juit suit rue due u but but the real real honor and praise e hould i go t tot the br bride i adi or the auW hit fk Slat I |
