D VINSON a special agent with the National Auto Theft Bureau of Salt SaIl Lake City found evidence in the course of his investigation that Mr had deliberately e era r a t tel e 1 y de destroyed destroyed destroyed de- de his auto at Buckland Flats about two miles east of North and East above Bountiful On the night of the accident Mr told the investigating investigating investigating gating officer that as he was VIas coming down the flat his car carba ba backfired twice and then he heard an explosion under the hood with flame name and smoke immediately following HE SAID HE stopped the car carto carto to investigate and when he went to open the hood flames drove him back His car started to roll toward the edge of the road he said and although he tried to stop it with rocks he wasn't successful He said his car plunged down into the ravine about 7 p. p pm p.m. m. m and burst Into flames names He made an insurance claim the following day to Cascade and Insurance Co SUBSEQUENT Investigation of the accident by Mr Vinson disclosed the suspicion that the owner of the car was responsible ble for the accident Interrogation tion of Mr led to his arrest on April 27 He was heard before Judge Johnson and committed to the Davis County jail jall Bail Ball was set at 1000 He is presently out on ball bail PRELIMINARY he hearing scheduled for tor May I is is' 31 at a am a.m. l 93 0 Ik Ii |
