D Blood and was greatly I I pointed to find Iud the office locked How How- However However ever we enjoyed our two days In the I i great metropolis and metropolis and kept busy In go- go goIng lag Ing places getting lost and taking raiding rides land and seeing a n show show leaving leaving early Friday morning for Portland Portland and and here we are arc arcon on the train already two hours late late late- and still another hour from our des des- WE FERRIED over to Oakland early Friday morning to board the Southern Pacific train for Portland changing ing at Sacramento for the Shasta route to the rho City of Roses Rases Ro s. s Up and around the many curves and through the numerous tunnels of or these famed mountains that the train carries you la is g an Intensely Interesting and picturesque pictures pictures- que ride ride even even to one who lives In a mountainous section I ARRIVING IN Portland early Saturday morning we were met at the station by Mr Mr and Mrs Sam Jr and Mrs Lester r Humphreys Mrs Wm H. H Fergenson and the year two-year-old great-granddaughter great Mary Kay Kny Hum Hum- Humphrey Humphre Humphrey whose welcome to Grandpa Rad- Rad dou don was a n delight beyond expression I ITHE THE THREE day Portland visit was J i ono of continual pleasure with pleasure with delight delightful r I ful lul rides In hi and around that great north north- northwest northwest west metropolis metropolis-in In In bright sunshine and andI I also In the Oregon mist which is far I more enjoyed by all Oregonians than the brightest of days Happy home visits I with all members of the family de- de family gatherings delicious menus and constant happy mingling j I f with the loved ones made the brief r Visit one never to be forgotten I I SUNDAY EVENING EVE at the home we were greatly pleased and high high- highly highly ly honored by a visit of Mrs J J. J V V. Murphy and two of her suns sons Doctor Milton and Edward Dr Murphy has visited the Park several sc times since the family moved to Portland but but it was tho first time In twenty three years jears ears since we had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Murphy and son Edward and would have enjoyed seeing Ray who was wasa a little fellow when leaving the Park The Tho call was much appreciated Mrs Murphy desired to be remembered to many Park City CI ty friends In the old town THE MURPHY family were prominent and highly esteemed residents of Park City for many years before making their r rhome home h lne in the northwest |
