Show i Arthur Douglas s Called T TArter After Arter an illness of ot three months in inthe Inthe inthe the Veterans Veteran's Hospital Salt Lake City Arthur Douglas died last Thursday af af- af afternoon Because of his seemingly Im mm- Improved Improved proved condition Mrs Douglas Mamy as she Is known by nearly all Park City people had made all arrange arrange- arrangements arrangements ments to bring her husband home and had gone to Salt Lake for that purpose when Death Intervened Deceased with his wife came to Park City in April 1925 and a month or two after aft r purchased their present home on Main street where they have lived since that time Mamy conducting a lunch counter at times Deceased was born in Rochell Florida on September Sept 1 1 1880 where he grew to manhood Coming west he found em em- employment employment employment with the Union Pacific com com- company company pany and for seven years ears before coming to Utah he was an of the North NorthWestern Northwestern Western railroad company Since his residence In Park City he was known as a genial and good citizen industrious and charitable always willing to help others who was less Jess fortunate than him him- self He was a veteran of the Spanish American war and registered and en en- enrolled enrolled enrolled rolled for tor service in the World war war but through some error he did cUd not see ser ser- service service service vice in the last conflict He was an active member of the local post of the Veter Veter- Veterans Veterans Veterans ans of Foreign Wars The only survivor Is his widow Mrs Emily Douglas to whom sympathy Is extended In her bereavement The remains were brought up from Salt Lake Friday afternoon and funeral services s. s under the auspices of the Vet vet- Veterans veterans Veterans erans of Foreign Wars were held Satur Satur- Saturday Saturday Saturday day afternoon from the Community church and attended by a urge large arge number of friends Rev Edward White officiated I preaching a consoling sermon Interment was In City cemetery the pall bearers being Rule Dennis Joe Pez- Pez ely George Grose Howard Coleman Albert Engstrom and Jack Reed Earth Is sweet but heaven is sweeter Love complete but faith completer Close beside our wandering ways Through dark nights and weary days Stand the angels angels' with bright eyes And the shadow of ot the cross Falls upon and sanctifies All our pain and all our loss Though we falter though we fall tall God Is helping after aUt all Mamy |
