for months past yet when the sad intelligence came that she had suddenly passed into her final sleep the fact was hard to realize through scores of years we had known and admired her flom girlhood young womanhood and all through her joys and sorrows of wife I 1 hoed and motherhood a devoted mutual existed and with her hosts of others bothers we sincerely mourn her passing on cn when N hen life verdes verde estate then along the scenic coast drive to rocky point lunada through the san pedro hills to point vicente where one gets a magnificent view ot of the great los angeles harbor with its present large array of battle ships and of every description a full view of the ity city of san pedro and in the near distance c the city of Wel and long beach with its tine fine inner harbor its and myself tor for the past eleven years in san francisco decided that the grass was a little greener on this sid side tha 1 of the bay we haven t had many Par kites to aee se e us lately but probably with summer ap preaching pro aching the fever to travel will agai again i prevail and as you know california Is a wonderful place to spend a vacation an and j also to spend anything else that has been bee blittle a little scarce lately business in this section of gods country seems to be improving and quite a bit of activity Is going on and the two great bridges the golden gate cate and the S san an francisco oakland bridge are progressing very rapidly it la Is very interest I 1 ing n to see these wonderful bridges constructed ted with immense cement blocks set deep in the bottom ot of the bay and then the steel work Is fastened securely ion on the blocks and later the large cables will be stretched across in fact the golden gate bridge which Is the shortest of the two Is now ready tor for the cables and this work will begin at once recently I 1 had the pleasure of blatting the te california hawaiian sugar plant located at crockett california this 1 plant Is the largest in the world and
