hill sides of the old spanish trail traversing that section of mississippi this year on the other side of the continent we drove along the san pernando fernando highway to the east end of san joaquin valley not far from bakersfield find and viewed with equal wonder the indescribable beauty of miles and miles of varied wild flower display on the mountain sides and valleys in what J is known as the arvin district the famous show place of wild flowers which annually attracts many thousands of visitors from all over the west we read that perhaps no other region in the world lias has so many variety of flowers or such vast expanses of bloom one hundred and ana eight varieties of wild flowers have been classified in this region the purple lupine alone covering approximately acres yes this
