Show lincoln lincola school entertains P T A the lincoln school shered another huge success last tuesday night wile when it 11 presented the program for the parent ent Tea teachers Teach cheis cis meeting under the d direction arc and coaching sl mr bell one of the largest crowds eer assembled in the high school audi was thrilled from start to finish the matinee in the afternoon afforded an opportunity tor for practically evemy child in the city to see the I 1 performance er for mance the A little heroine of the revolution was entirely in looping keeping with the season it depicting a little girl carrying in her memory a message to general washington helen carter as the little heroine certainly took her part be antl fully and creditably she was admirably supported by her black mammy ruth palmer by pompey melvin fletcher her mother mrs airs arlington ads ada babl ing her father mr arlington Clif foid street her friend patience lee inez berry patience grandmother thelma thelina street british soldiers bob diamond and lorus skinner british general albert johnson american boldis Sol dis bill nelll neill and barry Th lelke and general washington edward hurlburt for a number of the characters it was ther their first appearance on the stage but they so acted ted like veterans and were very much at home pompey and chloe kept the audience in a jovial mood ally the gold dust twins caralynn and Af maralynn aralynn hurlburt two first graders under the direction of their mother made I a real hit they were called back so often that they were breathless from dancing the operetta bits 0 0 blarney captivated the large audience on the first chorus and held their undivided interest and atte attention to the last note it was a beautiful operetta well rendered all you can hear Is the very highest praise tor for the way the youngsters carried their parts I 1 hyrum peterson Pc terson as mike ON was undoubtedly the outstanding character it was his first appearance on the stage but you would never believe it from I 1 I 1 his actions and his loi voice celay say hes a real find a rear singer atton afton messner as peggy was so sweet she me made de as me many ny boyfriends boy friends in the audience as she ehe had bad on the stage and there all ot of them were in love with her lawrence Lav Tence johnson las as patrick carried his role its as a boy and a girl beautifully and was clever in making love to peggy when she was masquerading as mr dr quack and he as margie zoe ann wily as mary alary was heartily appreciated both in her sing ing and talking so no wonder bill mitchell Ml as robert tell fell so hard tor for her bills musical voice was surely appreciated vera gleason a pretty Ct colleen Aleen and helen workman an admirer of patrick were at home in dancing ji singing ngIng and talking the choruses both boys and girls more than fifty of them supported the cast most wonderfully they acted every minute and all showed the effects of careful training the orchestra was under the direction of oral stevens the talented young high school violinist lie he was assisted by bill simmons virgil mills george ross and marguerite bircumshaw marguerite at the piano was a faithful little performer she miss a practice and was always willing much credit Is due her and Is given the children who took part are to be highly congratulated tor for their splendid performance and mr bell Is certainly to be e commended tor for the accomplishment A 13 0 I 1 0 |
