game we fully expected to win will at the end ol of the first quarter park hig high h was leading the score and mr bingham was heard to tom remark ark well something to write home about but in the last hall half the opposing team scored heavily with the result that we cams came out on the small end of the score although we lost the game all felt repaid tor for their lourney journey as the boys played excellent ball and showed splendid sportsmanship there were no d delays clays in the game it was lost fast furious tut lous entertaining and exciting better luck on scoring next time boys quiren by having mock luncheons and dinn dinners rs mies miss hauser as well as students took on an active part in this study PARRISH 35 SCIENCE NEWS mr bingham has decided that we shall do about tw twice ice as much work this semester 1 as was done in the first semester because he thinks that the physics and the chemistry students will have to do more woi lc in order to finish their work as they should now every chance they get the students lit in these two classes dash to tho the laboratory because it seems that Is nearly an impossible task to get the experiments peri ments in on time th physics clara has been study studying ing temperature they have hare found that it 16 a relative comparison this explains how the englishman could warm his hands by blowing on them and then cool his soup by blowing on it this lack fact puzzled the class or some of 0 them tor for a num her ber of days they have been studying thermometers they sympathize sympathy ize with the poor negro who was taken to the hospital during the war A nurse came up to the i negro and put a 06 thermometer into his mouth to take his temperature later when the doctor came around he asked the negro II if he had bad had anything to eat I 1 the negro replied A lady gave me a piece of glass to suck but that very nourishing the freshmen lit in mr ginghams Bing hams biology class round found a tongue twister the other day when they tried to say monocotyledon and they are one ot of the best prepared classes because mr bingham says that he will give them a test when they dont come prepared and they had h ad to take that test yet there was an argument one day about milk de los murdock maintained that milk was a drink but maurice olsen did not agree with him maurice still thinks that milk Is a food when they settle the argument we hope that they will let us all know the outcome because the question up for debate Is one which puzzles many people the physiologists have found some very peculiar bones in the human body one ol of these bones Is called the bone which means nothing it was originally igi nally called this because scientists did not know of anything that was crooked enough to name it after nowadays it could cou id be very appropriately named after some of our politicians DABLING 34 |
