PARK PARIC CITY BANKS sare SAFE S SOUND AND SOLID the state sensation of the week was the closing of the deseret savings bank of salt lake city the news came as a shock for the belief was general that this institution was one of the oldest it if not the oldest savings bank in the state and the further general belief that the L D S church was principal owner and backer of this well known institution so when announcement came of the closing of its doors the result was almost a panic As per statement published in salt lake papers the L D S church or any y of its leads leaders rs were not now nor never never had been owners or officers in the institution although perhaps many members of the church were depositors and those who were shared the fate ot of the others the news of the closing of this bank caused consternation among the many of our thrifty citizens who had their savings therein some of them large amounts and it was hard for them to believe that the closing of the institution could be possible but it was too true truland and then their regrets were sincere that they had not been loyal to their home town banks backs by placing their savings in the savings departments of same instead of rushing off to out of town concerns with the money earned and saved in park city this should be further proof that loyalty to your home town Is demonstrated by patronizing HOME industries AND HOME enterprises let it be a lesson naturally the closing of this old time salt lake institution caused some uneasiness among the depositors of park city banks and many were the inquiries made to the cashiers of same these inquiries however only further convinced depositors that both of our home city banks are absolutely safe bonn sound d and solid and it if necessary every individual depositor could be paid every penny of their deposits without even phasing the banks reserves neier lose faith in park city it Is always sate safe to bank on it despite thel fact it I 1 at present hard hit because of the crime against silver but right la Is might and must prevail and its one great industry mining will soon again flourish and prosperity and growth renewed as in former
