Show community church sunday school 1 1000 a m junior church 1100 a in preaching 1100 a in and p in epworth league wednesday 8 00 p in leader richard walker attend all the services you can and help make the congregations during vacation time miss M ISS ruby owen deaconess of liberty pary church salt lake city has been secured to assist us in a vocational bible school again this summer date tor for the s school c hoo 1 has not been determined abut but will wil i likely be soon a after the ath 1 all children wishing to attend should see I 1 mrs gregg for registration D A GREGG pas pastor tor lu aws THE WORK WELL CLUB last we week ek the work well club went on a atour tour to salt lake with the other ah club of park city and snyderville derville the clubs first aisted the state capitol the furniture in the governors reception room Is solid walnut and the decorations ore are in rose with gold and silver trimmings the governors board room contains con pictures of all the former governors lors of utah the capitol art gallery and museum proved very interesting following i lunch at liberty park the c lubs clubs 1 were shown hown the different processes of 1 pasteurization tion and bottling of milk at the clover leaf harris dairy and washing processes at the royal koyal laundry after a visit to the hogle garden zoo we returned to park city the work well club held a regular meeting friday june and another on wednesday the when patches and darns were made by the members the next meeting will be held july ath ELEANOR HEITZMAN reporter BETTER the better home makers club met fit at the home of mrs airs A C messner mrs ed and mrs airs L F anderson leaders leaders were present the meeting was called to order by Ples president ident Margue marguerite ritti bircumshaw the ro roll 11 was called and minutes ot of the previous meeting read alter after practicing the club song the u irked on their patches patched tho the dext meeting will be held thursday july ath at the home of mrs airs L F anderson MARJORIE BRIERLEY reporter starting bd with 14 boy members in 4 11 club projects in 1930 kendall county illinois Is expected to have at least I 1 enrolled this year according to F F gingrich Gln grich district club leader last year there were 04 64 enrolled and the projects very successful due to the diligence ot of the members and the active interest althe leading find and townspeople club work was organized lor for the year at an all day meeting nt at yorkville which was attended by 18 men and farm advas er W P miller ten were local club leaders and the others represented co ing organizations thus within two years club voi k has isen ilsen i irom from a minor to a 1 major tarm farm educational movement in that county beet beef calt call feeding will lead in projects this year with pigs corn and sheep next in order it was decided to hold a joint county 4 H fair and farmers 1 I 1 picnic this tall fall the place to be decided later i THE Ll klIrS I 1 the members of the park city clubs combined with us last thursday when we all enjoyed the long looked for edu rational cat lonal ional tour to salt lake city I 1 we were first conducted through the state capitol building by a guide who explained many things ot of interest to us we visited many famous rooms saw portraits ot of great men in the halls balls and viewed the prized exhibits after seeing the capitol building we drove to liberty park where we welcomed a delicious lunch at one a guide started to take us through the clover leat leaf harris dairy where we saw the milk being received from thermos tanks followed it through the pasteurizing pasteur izing process saw the sterilizing of the bottles and the automatic bottling of the milk the room we all liked most was the refrigerator room where the milk was stored perhaps because C ot of the noticeable difference in temperature pera ture our visit to the dairy ended with a cooling refreshing ice cream cone each A guide then conducted us through the royal laundry where we saw the sorting of the clothes the enormous washers in which the clothes were washed tho the mysterious to us at least wr ingers and the huge ironers we visited the machine TOOM room and viewed the furnace from a safe distance no one being anxious to see it at close quarters the most enjoyable time of the day was spent at the zoo where we wandered happily through the intricate paths and gazed with awe at the elephant and lions bears and other animals much the same as w a small boy at his first circus some ot of us were lucky enough to see the elephant take a drink gallons and gall gallons ons and a bath we also saw the lions and tiger partake ot of a very appetizing meal after this we motored home tired but blit happy and we all voted it a most educational day we wish to thank parents and interested patrons who took their c cars ars and helped make this trip a success MONA A SNYDER club reporter |
