full accord with the editorial policies ot of his p paper a p e r it Is said that he Is a large stockholder 1 d e r and an alcer c er in the publishing corporation but being be ing a democrat does not seem to deter mr kent from having and expressing ideas of bis big own not always in harmony with those ot of politicians and to eo called party leaders he Is a notoriously outspoken gentleman and would seem to flout political censorship irom from any 1 I source it Is an odds on wager that mr kents motto Is hew to the line let the chips ial fall where they may where lore fore the confidence he inspires i among ot other her things it will be recalled that he did not wear sott soft gloves when he figuratively manhandled man handled charley michelson chelson Ml high powered publicity expert shied at the toast my party may she always be right but right ot of wrong my party i so far as known mr kent has not announced his preference lor for governor albert E ritchie Bl ot of maryland as the forthcoming democratic nominee tor for president but the baltimore sun h has as always we Ys been an ardent supporter of the ill multiple term governor and it Is fair to assume that mr kent would not die of heart failure or bitter disappointment it if the coveted plum should drop into govenor Ri chles chies outstretched palm paim I 1 I 1 als it Is conceded that t nothing short of a deadlock in the political analyst but it Is hard to consider it a call because it had n no 0 opportunity for calling what in the name of all that Is political does docs mr kent consider a call must a duly accredited representative senta tive of a vast multitude use a megaphone on the roof of some skyscraper must a call be in the form of a legal document duly signed and verified by countless thousands of voters must an enormous assemblage of choristers cho possibly under the leadership of john mccormick McCorm lck make an oratorio of you hear us calling you 0 the availability of mr roosevelt as a candidate Is not being discussed Nei neither Is the chances of mr roosevelt or any 0 ther other democh democratic tic nominee being able to supplant the present occupant of the white house but what is a sentiment for him it if not a call it if not given expression it would not the be known that a sentiment existed and w when hen expressed it can be nothing less than a call we learn from the scriptures that many are called but f few e ware are chosen A call tor for governor roosevelt cannot insure him nomination nor it nominated his big election but it if he has not been called then no
