Show HH H nigh t faigh school notes t I H H H H 1 1 H I 1 tl I 1 AX t II r tuesday morning september 2nd and was the beginning of a promising school year the first day ot of course there was some contusion confusion flue due to greetings getting acquainted quain ted with the new teachers and pupils and arranging a suitable course of study the second day however suited in noiseless halls balls closed class 1 room doors and behind those doors I 1 classes of 0 industrious students judging I 1 from such facts we look forward to a successful year by bath students and teachers of 0 last years faculty members two have found occupation outside of park city but two new members miss keener 1 and mr dykeman who have already won I 1 the students approval and support are capably taking the places of the former teachers it la is to be hoped that miss keener and mr dykeman will experience a pleasant year of teaching here of course at this time must be mentioned football a study with which every one seems con concerned berned the are out for practice every night and if training wins its way the team will surely make EL a name for itself among other things it Is desired that the boys shun everything from gum to girls but it if such a course leads to success everyone Is in favor of it success in all undertakings Is the object to be accomplished this year and with township operation cooperation co the high school student body and faculty feel sure that failure will be lost from their vocabulary LINDSAY 31 0 4 0 sophomore report keport the day has arrived when we must tic ourselves down to our school work right bight now alter a long holiday this seems hard but holidays can not last forever this year we have come up a grade and can no longer be called Fre freshley Fresh shies les in order to start out right we held our fust class meeting last thursday when the class officers for the ensuing year were elected the following were chosen harvey dabling president albert vice president ella don secretory secretary eno huhtala treasurer and foster jones reporter this year we were required to take a foreign language some of us are taking french and some are taking spanish mr bingham dropped in the other day and took took french with us we hope he will continue to do this as we like to have him JONES 33 e 40 0 junior election friday afternoon september eth the junior class election took place in the foreign language room it was not a quiet crowd that assembled led for the juniors are full of I 1 life ja jack k rugar bugar last years class president took his place as chairman when the meeting was called to order the juniors settled down to business after much discussion the following officers were chosen lew lewis tree president gerta vice president la laura ura coss cossey e y secretary albert bircumshaw a W tre treasurer a u r er when the students called tor for speech t the be newly n elec elected t e d officers did their best eagling in n m making e extemporaneous x t 9 speeches these officers have much work to do a as the juniors put on the biggest acca occasions of the year COSSEY 32 senior report first days of 0 school the main difficulty of 0 the students seems to be getting their schedules straightened out it looks as if every one was bent on following the same program the class rooms are filled to over flowing in one period and sometimes rather empty the next but this Is being adjusted mr winters the mathematics teacher Is the only person who can figure ou out how to seat forty tour four students in thirty tour four seats and have ten students to fill up said thirty tour four seats Is ie seems quite a problem but mr winters claims to have worked harder ones than this meeting ones old friends is another popular diversion it certainly adds interest to school to step in to a rather dull class room and find a friend who has been forgotten tor for almost three months even it if greetings and exchanges ot of gossip do take several minutes of class manuea time teachers are patient the first dys days of school away anyway MAWHINNEY 31 |
