particular consequence to report this week as far as star of utah Is concerned everything Is running along smooth r ly we are highly gratified because of the i good steady progress being made and be cause of the favorable territory that we are are penetrating everything Is checking up almost ex acely as we predicted in the summer of i 1926 2926 months before we ever started op ia era erat t tons lons this Is a source of peculiar f gratification when people can call predict almost mort al three years in advance lust just about f i what bilat will happen in a great development i 1 campaign like star of utah and months before work Is started and when thousands sands of feet pt et actual development work approves f proves up just about what had been pre I 1 dieted it Is really remarkable I 1 I 1 stockholder this should cause every star of utah fetock holder to have great faith in the i management about the only difference i between our long range predictions and i L the actual conditions as demonstrated to date Is the fact that we have found three h t great mineralized fissures when we did S not expect any fl fissure saure of any f ence until we had bad driven our tunnel to a i g point which we have not yet reached band and which we will not reach before may F ot or june C we have not only found three great mineralized fissures but we have explored them enough and shipped enough ore i i from them to demonstrate I 1 believe to any one who actually knows the facts t I 1 that these fissures will produce many millions of dollars worth ot of ore when we t i get depth on oil them we expect the great mayflower tunnel to give u us bt about b 0 t eight hundred and ten feet fast more mor de depth IF th on these fissures or I 1 eight hund hundred re it and ten feet below the star ot of utah man tunnel we are now getting up into the moun 1 tain where depth Is being rapidly obtain ed with the star ot of utah tunnel and we I 1 should cut the great fissure by may or I 1 june which was really the FIRST fissure we expected to encounter we said in the beginning that we did not expect much until we had driven our tunnel a distance ot of about five thousand live five hundred t feet or such a matter and we said gald that we did not expect any GREAT things until we had driven the tunnel a i distance ot of about seven thousand five hundred feet toward the west we can continue to drive our tunnel on westward another nine or ten thou abou I 1 jeand sand feet yet and from now on we begin to cut many great fissures jand and we should open many great ore bod iles les in the lime and quartzite V N I 1 am going to make a prediction and il fx am willing to stand squarely on this J prediction 0 n e ven even if it were a hanging banging ot of tense tor 0 r time t 1 in to prove my prophecy 71 wrong on predict i f I 1 predict that we will begin jegen to open up p good ore bodies within a few months that can be mined above the tunnel level and nd therefore cheaply and profitably without the great cost of sinking belo below he 0 tunnel level FX I 1 predict that as we go on toward the vest W est with our tunnel we will continue t 10 0 open new fissures and new bodies of high agh grade ore until star of utah will be fane ne 1 of the great mines of the country fl 01 11 think I 1 know just about what als lures ea and geological formations and ore bodies 0 dies we will encounter from now on we may find m more 0 re fissures and more ore F than ri we lave have e ever er expected but I 1 feel confident n that we will NOT find fewer and less ore than I 1 have pre acted acte itlie and money and good d manage nent ent and hard work and engineering skill ivill ua tell the story in due time the book it nature will be opened I 1 and each leaf fill be turned in due time and I 1 hav have 0 o doubt at all about the story being ex ee ng y interesting n res ng and I 1 have no doubt at all about the story having a appy ending if star of utah stockholders think that am all wet vet 11 or it if they think I 1 am a lighty gaty poor prophet now Is the time of times to trade or sell their star of tab stock and invest in something that bring b bigger 1 g er and quicker and it Is possible that it will bed when the soluble lime stones arf are reached A great deal of excitement prevails in th the park city district over the discovery which which Is 16 attracting attention and stimulating activity throughout the east end oo 00 the region it Is undoubtedly one ol of the most important discoveries in the park city region in recent years preparations are being made to timber the station on the level before starting sinking again in view of the tact fact that such an ore deposit has been developed in the process of sinking the shaft together with the fact that no crosscutting has been done on the fissure which is making toward the northeast portion of the property it Is considered a remarkable exposure somewhat ot of a record has also been established in sinking the main working shaft an average ot of about six feet per day has been cut and timbered by the three shifts working under the direction of superintendent douglas nes des PRIM ANOTHER PARK CITY PROPERTY P LISTED ON MINING EXCHANGE IANGE stock ot of the park nelson mining company was listed on the salt lake r tock stock and mining exchange and called tot for the first time tuesday the company which la Is headed by W H nelson as president A D hunter as treasurer and D A white as secretary I 1 owns thirty two claims in the elkhorn section ot of the park city mining district the concern Is capitalized lor to the assessable shares having a par value of 50 cents each the property which still Is in the prospect stage with no commercial ore in sight Is developed by 1300 feet of tunnels feet of shafts and 92 feet of crosscuts cross cuts ten men are employed at present and the property Is two miles from the railroad PARK GALENA PUSHING AHEAD AND RAISING ORE I 1 reports from the parl park galena this week are to the effect that work la Is progressing very satisfactory with conditions improving as aa development progresses ore co continues to be marketed from t the he property the shipment the past week being pounds milling ore continues conti nue to pile up and it to la quite likely the milleville mill mil levill will again be put in operation during the early summer THE stabilization OF MINING unless all signs fall the mining industry Is on the verge of a new and greater era of development says the tha manufacturer tremendous projects for the extension of telephone and electric service are underway railroad electrification Is in its infancy automobile production Is on the increase as Is radio production more and more homes are using brass plumbing and copper leaders and gutters in their construction the result is a rapidly increasing demand tor for such metals as copper lead and zinc tor for new and diversified purposes the demand has been sufficiently sufficiently g great reat I 1 to reduce surplus metal r supplies jp e es an and d a degree ot of price stability has bee been attained export demand is bradu gradually increasing production Is being cal carried on at a normal and profitable rate lix in contrast to lean former years scientific progress in mining and recovery or ore has appreciably increased the Indu ind u try a possible productivity higher business standards have been attained through efficient management and the metal mining states are finding a new prosperity prosperity that Is reflected through the entire nation DEPTH 3 MEANS WEALTH IN PARK CITY MINING DISTRICT in writing to an eastern mining paper mr charles moore says gays depth has always pointed the way to great wealth in the be park city district with few exceptions all or the really big rale mines of 0 the district have found their biggest sources of 0 fortune far below the surface and mayflower profiting by the experience 1 gained by park city miners in half a century of operations plans to gain its I 1 depth rapidly by tunneling into the side of the mountain instead of shallow operation of the less prominent deposits near the surface in the very earliest days continues mr moore the only known fissures were the park galena or glencoe tile tha wasatch the hawkeye mchenry or park utah the flagstaff the ontario the mayflower or sliver silver king Co alliton and the cresent which Is the fissure that Is reducing producing most of the ore in the silver king coalition mine at the present time the ontario fissure was not a very prominent fissure assure but owing to the lay of the land and owing to the fact that nature had eroded away a lot of surface or overlying rocks this fissure was the first to be explored and profitably mined to any great extent the ontario fissure has produced about 00 la in the ontario mine the old daly mine the daly west mine and the daly judge 1 mine later the old mayflower or silver king coalition fissure was opened up but the mayflower fissure was considered a good deal ot of a joke in the early days and up to 1893 1892 not very much ore was taken out of it until keith and kearns sunk a shaft feet deep and got some depth on it conditions AT queen ESTHER there has been considerable specula I 1 tion regarding the queen esther property the past week and the striking ot of ore twice reported in that time no ore however has as yet been encountered in the drift being run on the level but thi the mineralized matter in the fissure haisure that Is being followed certainly looks mighty promising with strong character characteristics istl cs or 0 the rich ore recently uncovered in the park city consolidated the price of the i stock has materially stiffened the p past t week weck and no wonder tor for it seems a acab r ore will be encountered when the desired contact Is reached and in the opinion of those there in charge it la Is now in comparatively comparatively close proximity the present as development work Is being closely watched bed and checked up by competent mining engineers and there should be worthwhile worth while news from the property before many weeks SLUMP IN 14 4 PARK CITY STOCKS the past week there has been a downward tendency on practically all park city stocks with no apparent reason so far as the producers are concerned for they were never in better condition nor with brighter prospects ahead profit taking la Is the only reason that can be assigned for the slump STOCK SALES FOR WEEK FRIDAY east utah a 41 and keystone 1200 a 49 and new mew UTAH wednesday morning of this week the contact between the and quartzite in n the face of the long tunnel at the star of utah was cut the contact revealing a good grade ot of ore find and apparently 1 in quantity superintendent fisher came over from the property wednesday afternoon and informed the record man that this contact Is by far the most important showing that has occurred in the long tunnel As yet there las has not been sufficient work done to determine what this new find will lead to but mr fisher la Is confident gratifying results will follow while the objective of the tunnel Is quite a distance away nevertheless the workings working sis Is now in a country where ore hearing bearing fissures abound and it Is not unlikely that big ore bodies wui will be uncovered before the summer Is far advanced to say the least the star of utah Is in a roost most interesting stage of its development and the stockholders |
