| Show louie sundine dead last saturday evening at tho the park city miners hospital louie sundine one of tire the old time miners 01 this camp succumbed to the BECS ares ot of miners consumption and stomach complications with which he be had long iong been afflicted afflit ted though in the hospital tor for some weeks during chien time his hia death was expected pc acted on the day ot of his death lie he le seemed emed unusually cheerful ate a hearty dinner and seemed much better than he had been for several weeks past mr air sundine was born in daml land rodon sweden forty nine years ago lie ile came to park city la in 1891 and lived with his aurit aunt mrs 0 P for years he worked at the ontario with many ot of the old timers then he worked a long time at the mccune tunnel in 1902 he hb left the park in company with frank smale at that time an employee ot or the ontario and went to victor colorado where he and smale found employment at the portland rort land mine both being good miners it was not long before smale was foreman of the property and sundina shift boss ile he remained at continued on page eight 1 louie sundine dead continued from page one this property until tile the labor troubles occurred in victor and on june 6 1904 the day the independence depot was blown up lie he with other miners left the camp lie returning tu to park city ills hia partner smale re and to day is su superintendent ol oi the portland mine and had sundine remained lie he no doubt would have fell into a lue lucrative rathe position since his return to the park mr air sundine worked at different properties in the camp three years ago his health began to fail and lie he only worked occasionally lie ile was a lt big hearted good natured fellow his greatest enemy being his own self ile he leaves an aged mother back ir the old country whose heart will be bowed in sorrow because of tile the death of her boy whom she had not seen tor for many years ills his aunt still resides in this city and lie he has a cousin in san pete county this s state ate a cashier in a bank and quite prominent in the community in which h he e lives mr sundine was a member in good standing of the victor lodge 13 11 0 elks and its his funeral was held under the auspices of the local lodge of that 0 order r der the services were largely atten attended aed by friends of the deceased the impressive ritualistic of the elks were conducted by the officers and rev T P cook of the PT E church preached the funeral sermon filled with kind words for the departed and consoling thoughts tor for the aged mother and other oilier relatives left to mourn mr C T sang sane two appropriate solos in ills his usual masterly man A large number of elks escorted tho remains to glenwood cemetery I 1 where all that was mortal of louis js undine was consigned to tho the ara grave lous e I 1 ills his brother elks mair performing i ring tile tho last sad eed rites |
