the other broker was not selling or buying stocks tor for patrons legal advisor dark clark said bald it was wa now up to tile the officers to prove that mr air fares was still in that line of business before a license could be collected councilman paull thought a different story would be told it if license was reduced he was ot of the opinion it if present license was 2600 2500 instead of brokers would admit doing business and pay the tax and he believed a halt half loaf was better than none mayor tallon informed the coun that the ordinances should be ba enforced whether license was 50 or 25 and it if any aro are violating the laws punishment should follow the matter was finally referred to the committee on laws and perhaps later a recommendation may be ba mado made to repeal present ordinance exceedingly chidy Cli llly reception Kec eption for the second time since the present administration has been in power state juvenile judge mcmasters and chief probation officer drown brown presumably at the states e expense were up from salt lake to plea plead with the council to appoint as deputy probation officer for park city when mr was called upon thursday evening to address the he had done in the past and was willing to do in tile the future it if proper encouragement were given him he said aid that mr richardson was already deputy probation officer appointed upon his recommendation over two years ago but he wanted the city also to name him wi alth h the salary heretofore allowed that mr air richardson might be a little better paid for the work he ha did only good reports had come to him regarding mr richardsons Richard sons work and he saw no reason why he should recommend some other person for the position lie closed urging the gent lemans appointment and asked that harmony and operation cooperation co be given juvenile work in general mr air brown was called upon but had nothing further to say than had been said by judge mcmasters Alc Masters then came the chill the awful chill because the only words spoken after the eloquent plea made tor for mr air richardson and the appeal for assistance in juvenile work was a motion to adjourn by mr air welsh and tile the meeting was over |
