FIREMANS FACE BURNED accumulated gases exploded when he renewed fire lovelock tribune W A middleton one of the S P firemen met with an accident in the lovelock yirda tuesday noon which came nar costing him his eyesight the engineer also received slight burns about the face but not so serious as were those of the fireman the two westbound west bound on one of the oil engines upon ar iving in lovelick they left their en gine as usual and vant to eat when they came back to the engine the alre appeared to be out so the anre man saturated some waite with oil lit H and was abour to throw it into the firebox then puff there was an explosion and the names came leap ng out of the furnace door into the fi remans face acme of the tongues of birne reaching the engineers face it so that he too had 10 call on the railroad physician dr ger fireman was taken into ahe depot blinded and suffering ln tense pain J A took him to dr for treatment it was feared at first that his ayea were permanently injured but care fal inspection that only the outer skin waa scorched after tern by the doctor both the fireman aal engineer D R john aton were sent to the railroad hospital in sacramento
