NEW CHICAGO THEATRE first on to bo constructed under new fire ordinance chicago august 27 plans and specifications ficat ions for tho majestic theatre and office building at 71 and 75 monroe street have been submitted to the city building department for approval the plane provide tor a twenty story office building with a frontage of 82 feet a depth of 60 and height of feet with an apex reaching a height of feet the theatre building will be on the rear portion of the property feet la dimensions it will bo tho first play house constructed ted under the provisions of tho new theatre ordinance the seating capacity will be 2025 foundations tor the building are now in course of construction they will consist of seventeen chaissons caissons cais sons eight to ten feet in diameter sunk to the rock a distance of feet from the surface the building Is to be completed in one year and will cost the theatre has been leased tor twenty years to a firm which will conduct vaudeville entertainments in the house
