| Show wm t STORE i ROBBED DROWN PHARMACY ENTERED AND 18 IN DRUGS AND CASH TAKEN apparent that thieves were familiar with arrangement of store KR ft w some time between midnight thursday and the hour of opening friday morning the drug store of clarence E brown comer of twenty second street and washington avenue was broken into by means of the rear door and cigars of the probable value of 1 I and in cash taken the thief or thieves who did the job were evidently familiar with the interior arrangement r the drug store and in their mod of operation a knowledge ot the housebreaking house breaking business when mr brown went to his pharmacy this morning he discovered that it bad been entered during the night some time after closing upon leaving about midnight he locked the back door and left the key in the lock on the inside the thief must have been aware of this fact for by boring a half dozen holes through the door with an auger he was able to insert his hand and turn the key n the lock the thief was evidently a judge of good cigars tor he took the lest brands in the place the cash register was on the floor in the rear of the room and all the money it contained about was taken not over three feet away from the register quite a sum of mone was cached which the burglar in ahls nurry entirely overlooked A number of valuable articles were not touched why it is not known unless the miscreant was frightened away before he had a chance to load up with the things there are no clues to the identity of the thief or thieves during the night savage and bunes blacksmith shop across the road from browns drug store was also broken into and a brace and bit stolen this brace and bit was evidently the one used in effecting an entrance into the drug store |
