Show ordinance prohibiting ORDINANCE grazing picketing and running at large of cattle mules sheep goats and swine upon alic public roads and highways of weber county the board of county of weber county ordains as follows section 1 every person owning or having of any cattle horses mules sheep goats or swine is hereby prohibited from grazing picketing permitting or allowing eaid animals to run at largo upon the public roads or highways of weber county sec 2 every person so owning or having charge of any cattle horses mules sheep goats or swine who shall allow or permit lucli animals to grac picket or run at large upon the public roads or highways of weber county shall forfeit and pay to weber county the sum of one dollar for each head of cattle horses dulci goats or swine so grazing picketing or running at large upon eaid roads or highways which shall be a lien upon said animal and it shall be the duty of the road supervisor of each road district to impound all such found picketing grazing or running at large upon the roads and highways within each of their respective districts sec 3 immediately upon impounding all such animals it shall be the duty of the boad supervisor so impounding such animals to notify the owner thereof if known either personally or by registered mall of the impounding of such animals and the amount of the penalty due thereon and that if the same are not within five 5 days the service of such notice such animal will be sold to satisfy such penalty and the costs of sale and the expenses of keeping said animals sec 4 in case the owner of such animals is not known it shall be the duty of said supervisor to post notice aforesaid in three 3 conspicuous places within said district which notice shall describe such animals with reasonable certainty state the amount of such penally and that if such animals are not redeemed within five 5 days from the posting of said notice the same will be bold to penalty together with costs of sale and the expenses of keeping said animals sec 5 animals are not re within said time the said supervisor shall sell th feame at public auction to the highest bidder for cash and out of the proceed pay firsts the costs of making said sale and the expenses of keeping said animals and second the penalty which shall bo paid into the county treasury and third if there be any remaining pay the same to the owner of eaid animals if known and if not known and tho same is not claimed within six 0 month pay the same into the county treasury for the benefit of the county sec C in case notice bo given by registered mail the service of said notice be deemed complete on the mailing of such notice sec 7 all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed passed by the board of county at a meeting held on april 7 1902 SEAL LYMAN SKEEN chairman pro tern of board of county commissioner e of weber county utah attest C IL county clerk of weber county utah and cac Officio clerk of board of county commissioners of said county dated april 7 1902 state of utah as county of weber I 1 C R hollingsworth county clerk in and for weber county utah and ex officio clerk of the board of county commissioners of said county do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a full true and correct copy of an ordinance ordin anca entitled an ordinance prohibiting hi grazing picketing and running at largo of cattle horse mules sheep goats and ewine upon the public roads end highway of W aber county parsed by the board of county commissioners of aid county on the ath day of april A D 1902 as said ordinance ap peare of record in my office I 1 do further certify that at the meeting of eaid board held on eaid day lyman akcen and wll han G aileon were present and that upon the final passage of aid ordinance commissioner lynian voted aye end commissioner william G aileon voted aye witness my hand and official seal at SEAL thia ath day of april A I 1 1002 C R county cicik of weber county and cx officio clerk of board of county commissioners of baid county |
