| Show DELEGATES TO BE APPOINTED mayor requested to name persons to attend national conference of chart ties and Correct lona the mayor has received a communication from the secretary ecret ary of the rational conference of charities Chari tiei and correction asking him to appoint delegates to tho twenty ninth annual meeting to be held in tho city of detroit from may to juna ard 3rd the national conference of charities i and correction was organized in 1874 and has met annually aleco that time it in composed not only of hap of charitable and correctional in oni and but also of oth er men and women who are interested in the broad field of charity in the united states canada and mexico and has at the present time nearly 1400 members the meetings of the conference arc very enjoyable they bring together a large body of people who arc earnestly interested in good works and who constitute a pleasant and congenial fellowship alie sessions continue for a week general meetings are held daily and section meetings are also held for the discussion of special subjects such as needy families in their homes destitute and neglected children insanity juvenile delinquents prison state supervision per vision and administration of charities and corrections the feeble ed and epileptics neighborhood and civic improvements and hospitals dis pen saries and nursing persons who will be in the cast at that date or who would go as delegates should notify the mayor so he can appoint as delegates those who can or will attend |
