sens hall on monday and the dance party by bernard spencer on friday at the same hall EVENING OF AMUSEMENT affording an evening of unbounded delight was the entertainment and card party given by the fraternal union members for their families and friends wednesday the of P hall was the cosy quarters selected for the pleasures the beginning of which was the presentation of an excellent pro gramme consisting of selections oa the violin piano and cornet a recitation by little miss edith corey and a short address on the principles and benefits of the order by mr stillwell card tables were then placed and for several hours following high five commanded the guests attention prizes wera awarded thus first prize ladies a decorated tray mrs brantley consolation a deck of cards mrs W H wattis and mcclellan of the tabernacle choir salt lake continued on page eight SOCIETY MUSICAL EVENT the methodist was filled with a most enthusiastic and appreciative audience last evening to bear the much talked of organ and vocal recital given by prof thomas and miss anna wennifred stuart the name of prof radcliffe is dear to the hearts ot all our music loving people seldom has such a classical program been heard in ogden and the audience was loath to allow to leave the organ and with characteristic te good nature he responded to repeated encores miss stuart recently from portland oregon who came to us so highly recommended more ban fulfilled the expectations of the audience ogden audiences have seldom listened to a singer off the operatic stage possessing a voice equal to miss stuarts miss stuarts voice has a remarkable range and her high and low tones were heard to especial advantage in im awa jean and her masterpiece of the evening dietl signer miss stuart came out in simple girlish way and held her audience spell bound antl the last note of this difficult song her expression Is simply perfect and her sustained notes are unequalled unequal led the audience was composed not only of ogden musicians but a goodly of sail lake musicians were here to attend the recital and they predict for miss stuart a brilliant future scotch ballads are always popular and the sparkling a soprano miss stuart will make ogden her home for the winter FAREWELL GREETINGS one of the happiest reunions of the season took place last night at the residence of mr and mrs W S connell on fourth street in this city it was a farewell party given in honor of their daughter who has suffered several very long sieges of serious illness from which she is now convalescent indeed we may say she has completely recovered she is about to depart tor her new home in salt lake city and a large number of her friends assembled to otter congratulations ions and farewell greeting after spending a few hours in a pleasant game at high five mr C E Sherm anand mrs albern alien winning the highest prizes and mr A alien and miss M M hall the booby prizes the guests sat down to a sumptuous repast after supper the merry company engaged in various games it was with great pleasure that her friends witnessed ibe alacrity with which mrs aler moved through the apartments and the grace with which she
