Show TYPHOID FEVER CAUSESCONCERN Many Cases Reported Show That the Germ Has Gained Admission to Bingham Canyon Homes. Several cases of Typhoid Fever have been reported to the health office of-fice here, and although the direct cause has not been discovered, it is the opinion of medical men that the disease has been brought into Bingham Bing-ham Canyon in milk and fruits and vegetables. Efforts are being made to nip the epidemic in its infancy, and authorities author-ities on the subject declare that every ev-ery home in Bingham Canyon should boil all milk before it is used. Milk, according to medical men, is the most treacherous carrier of typhoid germs, and much sickness and suffering can be eliminated with tlie boiling of all milk. Fruits and vegetables are also bearers bear-ers of the typhoid germs, it is said, and much care should be exercised when preparing these foods. AH vegetables veg-etables should be thoroughly cooked, and aH fruits should be washed and such as apples, etc., should be peeled before consumed. Many residents have submitted to innoculation during the past week, which preventative, it is claimed is v the only one that can be depended upon. Although every effort is being made to keep the cases to a minimum, science is unable to cope with the condition without the co-operation of the people. Typhoid fever ,it is said, is not a disease that is carried in the air, but one which spreads quickly from contact.. con-tact.. Be careful of the commodities you eat, and see that all are either well cooked ,or thoroughly cared for. Nothing serious has occurred thus far in Bingham Canyon as the result of the dreaded disease, and it is the "hope of 'the physicians' of the "camp that everyone will do their utmost in ridding the community of this malady. |
