DEATH OF JAMES L DEE A pioneer passes to his long rest sunday morning at 9 james i L dee died at bia home 2454 grant avenue of blood poisoning as the of liver trouble james L dee was of the pioneers of having come here in he has always been closely identified with business affairs and has been public spirited and always in the van of advancement van cement he bad been a prominent business man thirty years but a year and a half ago retired and has since enjoyed peace and quiet at bis home he was born at stoke upon trent staffordshire england feb 1842 and was the eon of thos 11 and elizabeth reesa dee he joined the I 1 church of latter day saints in south wales in 1857 and came to utah with capt ross company in 1860 hie first wife was ann auza afterward the wife of president brigham young he had two children by this afe one of whom a son is living in denver his second wife died three years ago but be leaves a family she w as the mother of two married daughters mrs S W badcon and mrs N J thomas and four bons eons stanley charles roy and ernest all of whom were with their father at the time of his death mr death was sudden though the family knew that the end was not tar off thursday he called on the physician himself but saturday he grew rapidly worse and the physician was sent for at nine saturday night hia condition became so serious that hie brother judge T D dee who was presiding at the meeting of the board of education was sent for lie remained until 11 but as nothing dangerous was expected judge dee went home and sunday morning was very lucli shocked to hear of hie brothers death when he arrived at the house judge T D dee is the only surviving member of a family of four two aisters and two brothers the funeral services will be held at the second ward meeting bouse st 3 today all friends and relatives who wish to review the remains may do so at the residence 2454 gant avenue between the hours of 12 and 2 p m |
