Show THE TRIDUNE AND THE MORMONS. MOR-MONS. Fountain Green, Pel t 8th, 1891. Editor Rfcister. I quote Irom Salt Lake Weekly Tribune ol January 32nd,. as follows, "if the Church is anything to the Mormons it is the Church of the living God, conducted by his Priesthood and they day by day are supposed to receive instructions directly trom the source ol all kn iwledge." According to the above 1 would infer thai the Mormons Mor-mons are highly favored of the i.ord. But, alas! it grieves and annoys them to think that the Loid will favor Zion. Not long since they declared "that a good Morman could not be a good Citizen of the United States." But if ihe Mormons Apostatize and join the Tribune clique than th?y would be splendid Citizens uf this Republic. If the Mormons have (he true Church of the living God, it would be right fur Tribune men to join, and recede re-cede divine wisdom from the' source of all knowledge." They need not hesitate to join for fi-ar thev could net be good loyal Citizens ol Uncle Sam, for the Lotd will certainly assist them to be irood Citizens of the United States. The Tribune claims that the Mormons are disloyal to the Government, and that they do not revere and resp- ct the American flag. Hut O! how loyal thry profess to be! I lancy I see them uow holding the American banner, and proclaiming pro-claiming In favor of purity, and advising all people to abstain from immorality and vice. The Mormons as a majority at a pure, loyal, law abiding people, and are certainty a much antitl d to American Cittianship as ih great man oltha Trlbuna Compan?. Z. ChbistenskNi |
