Show DEATH OF A GOOD MAN testimony of his worth by his associates mr E D flanagan FI anagan who died at his corner of twentieth and jackson yesterday morning at was for many years an honored resident of ogden a member of weber lodge no 6 a member and at ono time a vestryman of the church of tho good lie remained faithfully at his work in the western union until a week ago but last monday lio remained homo to watch over one of his children who had been taken suddenly and alarmingly ill it is supposed that the shock of this caused the first severe hemorrhage of last monday night this was succeeded by several others and ing the last occurred to which succumbed A brave patient godly christim Ch roan a devoted tender and loving bus band and father while many loval hearts will grieve tor their own and his great loss they will all be strengthened by the memory of his true and faithful life the funeral will be held monday afternoon at 3 at the church of the good shepherd and after the conclusion of the church services the masonic fraternity will take charge and the burial will be conducted in accordance with the ritual of that order edmund dancea flanagan FI anagan was born at prescott ontario canada october where he lived until october 1 1882 at time lie located at ogden entering the employ of the western union telegraph company ashper ator in which employment ho was engaged until some time in 1885 when lie went to sacramento california where ho was chief operator ope sator in the western union fora period of two years going thence to oakland where he remained about eix months when lie returned to lie continued in the service of the western union company and in was made chief which position lie filled until saturday may 1893 and hae resided continuously in ogdan since his return frem california mr flanagan FI anagan joined the masonic fraternity in canada lie was initiated in st andrews lodge no 16 at toronto lie joined weber lodge no 0 by november being at tiro time of liis death an honored and member of eliat lodge from the telegraphers ed flanagan FI anagan was respected by all who duew him his more intimate friends his telegraph associates loved him for his many good qualities combined in few men generous to a fault his patience a byword by word among fellow workmen lie was a christian and a lover of justice and truth ilia friends of san francisco onealia and other points have contributed to his memory many beautiful floral offerings as tokens of their love and esteem for the man alio can never bo replaced in their memories farewell gentle ed we shall one and all miss your genial presence and liopo eliat the divino sparks of your immortal may how in strong and easy current back to their god |
