Show QUERIES. The Register is in receipt of several letters from interested part ties asking why tht prizes to be awarded for articles printed in tht Stntinel, begun under the regime of J. T. Jakcman, but completed after the office passed Into the hands of Harry Felt, are not awarded. It is a very proper question, and on that should be answered immediately. imme-diately. We would refer the interrogators inter-rogators to the notice in the Stntitnl early in January in which the present pre-sent company assume all obligations, and also refer them to the fact that the present owner was working on the paper, and an alleged partner at the time the prize offer was made and was fully conversant with the transaction; which relieves Mr. Jakcman of any further responisbil-ity responisbil-ity in the matter. Also, after tht paper passed into the hands ef the present owners, there was a continuation continu-ation of those articles under the heading head-ing "Our Prize Articles." Those most interested would do well to consult the Judges, or perhaps it would be as well to apply te the publishers pub-lishers themselves, as the have most likely forgotten it. r 1 |
