Show Last Saturday afternoon Manti Base Ballists came to the solemn con elusion that they would come to Ephraim and make their final struggle strug-gle for championship. They succeeded, suc-ceeded, but, with no more honor than when Ephraim went to Manti, and were accused of catching them napping. Manti had their full team excepting one, when they were defeated, de-feated, but Ephraim had only one of (heir new nine, to play with them, and were as easily beaten last Saturday Satur-day as Manti was 'on the fifth month and 14th day of the nianth.V Yesterday afternoon a number of B. Y. A. students residing in Elsi-nore, Elsi-nore, and Ephraim challenged the Ephraim nir.e to playaa game of five innings each, and were very cleverly defeated. The first two innings were played with one score in favor of Elsinore, but, when Mr. Greaves our pitcher steped iu the box, confidence was soon restored and two white washes in succession were in order, The B. Y- A's were so confused, that their playing was very wil t f so uncertain was the pitcher that the umpire received an ugly wound from a foul. At the close of tht game the score Stood if to 10 in favor of Ephraim. |
