Cn the news gives the following I 1 particulate of the death of hon hot va wm martic G collett which occurred thursday y morning caused by typhoid and br brain aia fever he had been ailing for several weeks but being an energetic man with an unusually active mind and strong physical constitution be he endeavored deavo red to throw off the languid feeling that had taken possession of him but was finally compelled to take to bia his bed during bis his sickness be received the beat beet of medical and other att attention antion but grew gradually wore worse until bia his demise mr collett was born at smith field cache county utah november alth 1860 and waa was consequently in his thirty first year As a young man ho he labored bard successfully surmounting formidable obstacles in obtaining an education he ile was a graduate of the bridaham young college of provo after leaving school he located in thoele tooele county for four years be the principal athe district school at grantsville Grants ville and did much to promote the cause of education in that place about four years ago he was chosen bishop of Grants grantsville ville and served in that capacity tor for nearly two lears years when be he was honorably released release from the duties of that office on account of bia his removal from that county while acting as bishop he endeared himself to the people of of the ward over which be he presided by big his progressive and philanthropic spirit in 1889 he was elected councilor from tooele thoele county to the twenty ninth session of the legislative assembly of the territory and his services in the legislature early in the following year as an earnest advocate of the free school law enacted at that cession session are well remembered he ile leaves a wife and one
