Show the oran organ recital the long talked of methodist church was opened to tho public last ev evening ening for the first time it being the occasion of prof Radcliff fIB i recital the main audience room of the chunh church is as beautiful a room from the point of harmony in coloring and elegance in design of decoration aa as can be found anywhere in tha the west the BIS gaa and electric fixtures are in silver and cut glass the main chandelier being as exquisite a fixture of 0 the sort as can be been anywhere the organ almost fills the space at the rear tear of the pulpit and IS is very beautifully tally decorated in accord with the decoration dee oratio no with tha the balance of the audi audience onCe room last evening the large church was filled with the elite of the city and all were more than satia satisfied fled by the treat given iven them in music fro pro ff F is a master of the organ and his selections last evening were made in good taste elszta evening star from wagners magners Wag ners Tau hauser wag was by popular accord pronounced the gem of the evening prof radcliffe accepting the hearty encore and rendering tendering a theme taken from a scotch melody with impromptu variations which was also warmly applauded the vocal numbers were good the angel trio from elijah by BIS six of the ladies was very sweet and sirs mrs B M short rendered concone from la in a il mannar which fairly captured her audience mr air mccorkley kles klos baas bass solo 1 I am king of the sea and mr alexanders tenor song dear heart were well given the latter receiving an encore miss lily snyder of salt lake like city bang sang a very pleasing op selection and was given a very tic recall enchanting her sudi audience ence by the pretty rendering of comin the bye rye the concert closed with lefebure Lefe buro wely a march in E flat on the organ by prof radcliffe Kad cliffe and the 18 large ge audience dispersed after having listened ened to one of the most select clu musical entertainments ever given in agten I 1 much inch pr praise a iso is due title the ladles ladies of the church hurch c who have worked so hard to make a success of this recital and it is hoped that it will prove to be only the beginning of a long series no instrument in the lack of a grand orchestra is eo so capable of rendering classical music as the pipe organ and now that has auch such a grand instrument st ment as that in tha the new 31 E church it is hoped that it may not 1 rust for want of use |
