committee on water supply beg leave to report that the line of pipe which we were authorized authorised by the last council to lay JAY on pearl street between sixth and seventh street will be to lay feet defour inch pip pipe a on pearl street south of fourth and tho the parties requesting it having agreed to pay for the pipe wo we have ordered it and instructed the to put it in place next week upon the tile matter of coave conveying next ing the water to the committee after a careful consideration of the question q it etin would recommend that a line of four inch pipe be laid from the tile ogden canal a distance dis lance of 4 1 soo feato feet to and along the south street t of tho cemetery and extending the whole length of the monclo enclosure ure this would cost about we are upon the payment of 4 per acab or about per year the city can obtain from tho the ogden canal sufficient water to fill 1111 a four inch pipe during about 84 fourr of each week or an average ge of 12 hours per day this we think would be su the total fall from the canal to the highest point of the com elery is about 40 feet the water ordinance provides that no license for sprinkling lawns shall be granted for less than 5 per year and that tb at when the area of the lawn fawn shall exceed equale yards five ave centa cents a square yard shall be charged deeming it unadvisable to permit any an y but the cief city sexton to use water wat er in tho the demetry jest e st by some anad ver tance the resting places of the dead in the lower parts of the cemetery should become submerged we would re recommend commend that the ordinance bo be BO so amended as asto to place the water rate for tho the Geme cemetery tery lots at 3 per year and that the sexton be allowed tp to charge 3 for attending to the waterland wat erAnd seeing that it j a equitably and suitably distributed upon all the iota lots for which a water license may be bd paid abo post of laying the service pi pipe upon each altern alternate te street of t the 9 e cemetery running north and copeli which in our judgment should bo 49 paid by y the lot ot owners adjacent who ano desire water will perhaps average about IQ per apt we
