Show F A COOPER re one of ills hi wives and nd will obey the lan law la n t t F A 4 cooper of west jordan who served out his six months term in the penitentiary a short time a for unlawful cohabitation came into court late last evening accompanied by mr B G ray bould and attorney C K gilchrist mr gilchrist arose and addressing fie tle court said there remained two indictments against mr cooper yet vet to be of the first having betti tried and the defendant committed thereon mr co cooper per waa now in court and mr air gilchrist said he was authorized to say that he hit proposed to obey the laws aa laid down by congress Con gresa in obe diance to the dictates of his con science his first and legal wife baying i D g died while be was in the penitentiary he married one of the two remaining women and now desired to go home to earn his living and support his children aa as a law abiding citizen he would say for mr cooper that be lie desired to create no friction with any one but it i the worst came to the worst be he was pre prepared ared to shoulder all re ity ile he produced a certificate of mar marriage riago between mr cooper and his wife the judge asked mr cooper if these statements were true that he prop propped oed tu tv abide by the law in the future the answer was yes the clerk then read the two in indictments diet ments to which mr cooper had before plead not guilty his plea waa was now asked again and he responded guilty 0 mr dickson eaid said in view of the promise a made by mr air cooper he be would uld ask that judgment bo be suspended bended until the gentleman had bad had d an n opportunity apor unity to show by his hi conduct whether the promise was made in good faith the judge made the order suspending sentence and mr cooper left the court room salt lake lako herald |
