Thirty-one hits were made by the two teams, including homers, and six pitchers graced the mound, Bingham using four and Magna two. The game was good to look at despite the twenty-four runs made. Many brilliant, plays featured the game, including a beautiful one-handed catch by Morley of Howard's drive in the sixth. With the score 8 to 2 against them in the sixth, the Bingham team fell on Brown in the seventh for five hits which netted four runs. In the eighth they again swatted the Magna ace for four hits, and then Woodhave entered the scene, and before the smoke had cleared, Bingham was leading 12 to 10. Papworth made great catch of Self's foul near the grandstand in the fourth, t Parry looked as though he was going to stop the damage when he took the mound, but with the bases loaded, in the sixth, Isenburg got bold of one of his fast ones, and lifted H far over Whiteley'a head for a homer. ii i Papworth made a costly error in the fourth, when he threw wild to first after Dow had been put out at the plate. A good throw would have completed a double, and stopped the ' ' scoring. Dow robbed Baty of a triple in the fifth, when he grabbed his liner between be-tween center and right field. Dowdell shot a liner at Brown in the sixth, too hot to handle, was given credit for a hit. WHAT WE SAW It was a great game. Lots of hits, a few errors ,and brilliant bril-liant fielding made it a contest well worth remembering. , Bingham couldn't do a thing with Brown in the first, and went out 1-2-3. A fast double play in the first by Dowdell, Baty and Ledingham snuffed out a Magna rally. Dow was a whole outfield in himself, him-self, going from center to left, to right field to make catches in the first two innings. , He also made three real hits. Wonder Won-der why some scout don't Come out and give him the once over? Ledingham made a great catch of Egbert's foul in the third.- Papworth made a beautiful hit in the third, but was caught at the plate. Very poor coaching is the cause given. Murdock, the next man up, doubled to left, and then was doubled at second on an easy fly to left. Morley was yaiting for Nielsen's drive in the third, and didn't have to move to get it. Murdock made a swell assist on Archibald's roller in the third. Murdock went into the box with a sore arm, figuring the kinks would work out as the game progressed, but he gave way to Parry in the fourth.
